Tonight at the I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, drivers, fans, and law enforcement officers honored fallen Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputy Sgt. Chris Jenkins.

Sevier County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Dodd was involved in a motor vehicle crash last night while attempting to apprehend a violator who had fled from officers.

Yesterday, an overturned vehicle has forced the closure of Interstate 75 Southbound at the 80 mile marker.

Today Sheriff Tim Guider and all of the LCSO said goodbye to Assistant Chief Deputy Tony Arden and Sergeant Pete McGinley. Both have served the LCSO and Loudon County for over 25 years.

This week is National Law Enforcement Memorial Week. It is a week to pay our respects and remember those courageous servants who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line-of-duty.
